Show Files are up on the podcast page!

This week we talked about new legislation in California that requires Micro-stamping technology be employed on all new firearms sold in the state.

I think it is evident to anyone that understands ANYTHING about guns that this “New” technology would be easily defeated by a criminal of even marginal intelligence. Not to mention that a revolver does not leave any expended brass at the scene which would totally defeat this plan by the Mental Giants that signed this law into effect.

The images below are the typed of microstamping that would be applicable on centerfire pistol and rim fire cartridges.

By the way is Rimfire crimes a big problem in California? Why would this legislation include entry level  and training firearms unless there is an different motive for the regulation?

We also talked bout a New Study that show that “Mass Shootings” are not on the increase and that the banning of “Assault Weapons” will have little affect!

Don from the Firing Line gun store in Westland MI called in to talk about some of the new guns introduced at this years SHOT Show going on in Las Vegas. Don indicated he had an opportunity to fire the new Glock Model 42 in .380 acp. He thinks this will be a great gun that will serve the concealed carry market and probably be hard to keep on the shelves at your local gun store. Don also talked about the new Remington R51  9mm concealable pistol.

Bruce from Plymouth calledin to comment on the new Glock 42 and how in many other countries Glock has produced a .380 for many years.  Many people do not realize that in some countries they prohibit civilian firearms from being chambered in the same caliber as Military firearms. This has resulted in the adoption of firearms that are similar to common military guns being available, but in other calibers such as .380 acp versus 9mm.

John from Danville, IL called in to discuss the Thompson Center Contender. A break action pistol that is often used for big game or varmint hunting. This pistol has interchangeable barrels that allow the owner to fire anything from .17 HMR rimfires up to major calibers approaching .50 caliber
