We had some good calls from listeners today:
Long time listener and caller Mike from Crawfordsville Indiana called to talk about the Mossberg MVP that he got his wife Elizabeth for Valentines Day, Mike that is brilliant!
Mike chose well both with a neat bolt action rifle that accepts AR-15 mags and also his choice in a spouse. I would be in all kinds of trouble if I got my wife a gun for Valentines Day, You really have a keeper there!
Phil called in to talk about installing new tritium nights sights on his handgun. The Tru-Glo warranty states the sights must be installed with a sight press or by a gunsmith. This is to prevent damage to the glowing tritium vials in the sites that might happen if someone is hammering them into the dovetail mounts.
There are presses made for specific guns and also some universal tools. This own will work on may models and can be found at www.Brownells.com
It was also an emotional show this weekend!
I told the story about going to my Uncle Raymond Dornhecker’s Memorial service this weekend. I spent time with my cousins Mark and Mike Dornhecker and their beautiful families. I asked if my uncle had inherited my Papa’s Remington Fieldmaster and if he did could I see it? It was the first gun that I had ever shot, and my Grandfather taught me to shoot it well.
The did indeed have the gun and I got to hold it and reminisce about those days so long ago. An hour later Mark and Mike called me into the bedroom and presented me with the Remington 121!
I am overwhelmed with the emotion of receiving this gun. It was the first gun I ever shot, it is the gun my Papa taught me to shoot and it started me on this lifelong path of enjoying the shooting sports and gun ownership!
Thank you Mark and Mike, you cannot imagine how much this means to me!
At the end of the show I got rather riled up at some of the idiocy with the anti gun crown and new efforts aimed at infringing on our rights in the name of gun safety!
