Fun Show this week, Lots of callers.
We discussed the definition of “Brandishing” and that a legislative bill was passed to clear up any confusion on the topic. I will find that and post it some time later this week.
Caller Dave asked about “Open carry in a car?”
MCL 750.227(2) prohibits a person from carrying a pistol concealed or otherwise (i.e. open carry) in a vehicle without a license to carry the pistol concealed. MCL 750.231a details the proper way to carry a pistol in a vehicle. There is no way to open carry a pistol in a vehicle. If the person attempted to carry a pistol strapped to his or her upper arm in a vehicle without a license, he or she would be in violation of the carrying a concealed weapon statute and subject to arrest.
