Show files are up on the podcast page!

Today’s show was pre-recorded because I am attending a wedding.

Next week I will be back live!

Events:

Don’t forget the Second Amendment March on April 29th:

Second Amendment March was founded in 2009 for the purpose of organizing a nationwide pro-Second Amendment Rally in Washington, D.C.  The original event took place in 2010. Since that event we have focused on Michigan events, working in conjunction with Michigan’s largest gun rights organizations.

What: A peaceful gathering to demonstrate the political strength of Michigan’s legal gun owners and Second Amendment advocates

When: Tuesday, April 29 2014 starting at 9:45 a.m.

Where: Starts at the corner of Cedar and Michigan in Lansing (or if you prefer, just go directly to the Capitol Building)

The Details: Michigan’s Second Amendment March will be held on Tuesday, April 29th at Michigan’s Capitol. The march will begin at 9:45 a.m. with a sidewalk procession from the corner of Michigan and Cedar to the Capitol. Speakers and entertainment are TBD. The Michigan Legislature is in session that day. We’ll be showing them the political strength of Michigan’s legal gun owners. The march is being organized by Skip Coryell’s Second Amendment March and jointly promoted and funded by the Michigan Coalition for Responsible Gun Owners, Michigan Open Carry, and Michigan Gun Owners.

Information:

Last week a caller asked about the legality of using an upper arm holster as a method of open carry in a vehicle because it would be visible to people outside the car.  My interpretation  was this would not be legal and any time you have a firearm in a vehicle you are subject to the legal requirements of transporting in a vehicle unless you are a CPL holder with a handgun.

To get the official word on this I contacted: Lt. Aimee Maike of the Legislative and Legal Resources Section, Office of the Director of the Michigan State Police and she provided the follow answer:

“MCL 750.227(2) prohibits a person from carrying a pistol concealed or otherwise (i.e. open carry) in a vehicle without a license to carry the pistol concealed.  MCL 750.231a details the proper way to carry a pistol in a vehicle.  There is no way to open carry a pistol in a vehicle.  If the person attempted to carry a pistol strapped to his or her upper arm in a vehicle without a license, he or she would be in violation of the carrying a concealed weapon statute and subject to arrest”.

Our Thanks to Lt. Aimee Maike and the support she provides to the firearms community in our state!

Drawing Information:

Because this week was a pre-recorded show we did not have callers and a drawing.

Next weeks drawing prize will be outstanding! Remember to call in at 734-722-1600 to enter your name. Drawing will be at 11:55.

The BulletSafe Bulletproof Backpack Panel
This bulletproof backpack panel uses the same ballistic materials as the BulletSafe vest. It can be used inside a backpack, briefcase, bug-out bag or even a purse. It provides NIJ level IIIA protection, which means it will stop almost all handgun rounds including a .44 Magnum.
The panel is 10 inches by 12 inches and weighs just 20 ounces (1.25 lbs).
The panel is enclosed in a washable, 600 denier polyester carrier. This carrier provides a tough outer shell so that you don’t have to worry about carrying other items in your backpack. The BulletSafe bulletproof backpack panel is rugged enough for everyday use.
